Common Rail Fuel Pressure Tester

Diagnosis Scope & Precautions

This product is an exclusive tester for the precise and efficient diagnosis of diesel common rail engine fuel device.

1.1. Diagnosis Scope

Start failure or stalling while driving
*In case of the vehicle which shows light vapor lock or black/white exhaust, it is recommended to perform power balance test by using scan tool and check whether there is any trouble caused by the difference in injection amount between injectors.

1.2. Precautions

Because the components of common rail engine fuel device are precisely machined, even inflow of very tiny foreign substance may cause jam or wear of injector. Get rid of foreign substance first when removing and check the connecting status and screw torque of those parts when installing.

Caution : Do not connect the forced drive connector more than 3 minutes

Low Pressure Line Test

Electric Motor Type (Bosch Type Ⅱ)

1.Install a gauge between filter and high pressure pump
2.Repeat engine key ON/OFF 5 times every 3 seconds
3.Pressure analysis after starting engine.

Judgement

EURO 5 vehicle : Normal within 4 ~ 5 kg/㎠
EURO 4 vehicle : Normal within 2 ~ 3.5 kg/㎠
EURO 3 vehicle : Normal within 1.5 ~ 3.5 kg/㎠

Suction Pump Type (Delphi)

Measured Value Judgement
8~19 cmHg Normal
20~60 cmHg The jam of fuel filter fuel line (Suction pump is normal)
0~7 cmHg The leakage of fuel line or abnormality of suction pump

High Pressure Line Test

Caution : Do not connect the forced drive connector more than 3 minutes

Remove the fuel high pressure pipe of all injectors.

Lock all rails where the injector high pressure pipes were connected with plugs.

Remove the fuel pressure regulator valve connector and install the forced drive connector.

Perform engine cranking exactly for five seconds.

Check the rail pressure by connecting scanner or optional high pressure gauge.
